The seven stages.

From a photo on your phone to a book on their shelf — here's the path a Page Hundred book takes.

§ Stage 001 — The AI Engine

A small ensemble of agents, not a single brain.

Our AI engine is a workshop of specialists: a likeness agent that learns the child's face, a narrative agent that spins your prompt into story, a layout agent that sets the page, and three parallel reviewers that check for tone, safety, and print-readiness. No page leaves the engine until all three reviewers sign off.

Stage · 002

Avatar crafting.

Two avatars per character, generated from one front-facing photo and a handful of traits. You pick; we refine. Never a random face — always built from the child you uploaded.

Stage · 003

Narrative generation.

A tuned LLM writes against strict age, word-count and tone rules. British or US English. Tone-matched to the age band. Moderated before and after generation.

Stage · 004

Preview & approval.

Cover, title page, and three sample spreads rendered at low-res. You approve exactly what you'll receive — and only then does your card get charged.

Stage · 005

Full interior render.

After approval, we generate the remaining pages at print resolution — upscaled, colour-corrected, and laid to bleed. This happens while you receive a warm confirmation email.

Stage · 006

Human QA pass.

A real editor flips every page. Misspelled signs, six-fingered hands, odd geometry — caught and regenerated with the same seed. We'd rather be slow than send a bad book.

Stage · 007

Print, bind, post.

Files go to our European print partner. Hardback cover, silk paper, proper binding. Shipped worldwide, tracked, with the first 500 books hand-numbered.

Sized to their age.

Page count and word count are tuned to the reader — not padded for a sense of substance, not cropped to save cost. Here's what a book looks like for each age band.

Questions, asked gently.

The ones we hear most. Anything we've missed? Ask us directly at hello@pagehundred.com.

Is my child's photo safe?

Yes. The photo is encrypted in transit, used only to draw the avatar, and automatically deleted the day your book ships. We never store the photograph beyond the project — only a stylised character reference, and only if you opt in for future books.

What if I don't like the preview?

You can regenerate the avatar, tweak your story prompt, or walk away — no card is charged until you approve the preview. We'd rather you not buy a book you don't love.

Can more than one child star in the same book?

Yes. Two characters are included for free — siblings, friends, a child and a grandparent. Additional co-stars can be added at checkout.

How long does it take?

The online journey takes about 8 — 12 minutes. After approval, we take roughly a week to render, QA, print, bind and post. Tracked shipping from there.

What does a book cost?

Pricing opens when we open. Expect the standard hardback to sit around £32 — £42 depending on page count, with the PDF keepsake as a small add-on. No surprise fees; the price you see before approval is the price you pay.
